Artist in Residence - Harpers Ferry Welcome to Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, where art and history come together in a truly unique and inspiring setting. Today, we are thrilled to introduce you to our fall 2022 Artist-in-Residence, Nancy Cook! Nancy Cook is an exceptionally talented artist who has been chosen to spend time at Harpers Ferry as part of our Artist-in-Residence program. This program allows artists to immerse themselves in the rich history and natural beauty of the park, drawing inspiration from the surroundings to create stunning works of art. During her residency, Nancy will be engaging with visitors, sharing her creative process, and showcasing her artwork. She is excited to explore the nooks and crannies of Harpers Ferry, capturing the essence of this historic location through her unique artistic perspective. But Nancy is not the only artist making a mark at Harpers Ferry. We also offer a wide range of workshops for those interested in learning new artistic techniques. One such workshop revolves around sugar work and clear toy candy making, led by Historic Foodways Expert, Carol Anderson. In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to explore the world of sugar work and create their own delectable treats. All supplies for the candy recipes are provided, ensuring a memorable and delicious experience. Additionally, we have a diverse selection of Harpers Ferry art available for purchase. Our prints shop features unique and custom-made pieces that capture the essence of this historic town. Whether you're looking for a special gift or a beautiful piece to adorn your home or office, our Harpers Ferry art collection is sure to impress.
