Located in the picturesque Glen Echo Park's Arcade Building in Glen Echo, Maryland, Photoworks serves as a vibrant and unique resource for students and professional photographers alike. With a diverse range of educational programs, gallery exhibitions, and community initiatives, Photoworks offers an unparalleled experience in the world of photography. Led by the esteemed Richard Batch, a renowned faculty member, Photoworks provides exceptional training and guidance to aspiring photographers. Richard's expertise lies in teaching Digital Photography I and II, Digital Printing I and II, Kids Camps, Meet & Shoot, Smartphone Photography, and The Negative. His passion and dedication to the craft have earned him a sterling reputation among his peers and students. Photoworks also houses a cutting-edge darkroom facility, allowing photographers to immerse themselves in the traditional art of film processing and printing. With darkroom and digital hours available on Sundays from 1-7 pm, aspiring photographers have the opportunity to develop their skills and create stunning prints using both traditional and modern techniques. In addition to its educational programs, Photoworks boasts a contemporary gallery space that showcases the work of talented photographers. Gallery hours are open to the public on Saturdays from 1-4 pm and Sundays from 1-7 pm. Visitors can explore captivating exhibitions that highlight the diverse range of artistic expression within the field of photography. At Photoworks, the sense of community is palpable.
