About Coalition Higher Education

Coalition Higher Education Presentation: The Coalition Higher Education is a dynamic and innovative organization dedicated to advancing higher education in Washington State. Comprised of twenty community and technical colleges, our coalition comes together to address the unique challenges and opportunities in the education landscape. With a strong focus on parenting education programs, we work tirelessly to strengthen families and empower parents through a range of valuable resources. From parenting skills classes to parent-cooperative preschool classes and parent/child classes, we offer a diverse range of programs designed to support parents in their journey of raising their children. Through our Organization of Parenting Education Programs (OPEP), we aim to build stronger and healthier families, promoting positive parent-child relationships and fostering a nurturing environment for children. Our programs are offered in Washington's community and technical colleges, ensuring accessibility and availability for parents across the state. At the heart of our mission is the belief in parents' rights in education. We strive to protect and uphold the rights of parents in the public schools, ensuring that their voices are heard and their concerns are addressed. We recognize the vital role that parents play in their child's education and aim to empower them to actively participate in their child's academic journey. Aligned with our commitment to equity in education, the Coalition Higher Education works closely with students, parents, teachers, and allies. By mobilizing this diverse group of stakeholders, we champion the cause of justice for kids of color, advocating for equal access and opportunities in education. As part of the Coalition to Protect Our Public Schools, we are dedicated to ensuring that every child has access to a real school and a real teacher.
