The Asian American Senior Citizen Association - Advocating for the Well-being of Seniors The Asian American Senior Citizen Association is a private foundation based in Westminster, CA. Established in 1997, our organization is dedicated to promoting the health, welfare, and overall well-being of Asian American senior citizens in the community. The older adult population faces unique challenges and it is our mission to empower our members to increase their own physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being. Through our Older Adult Health Program, we provide direct care, support services, and educational resources to ensure that seniors have the necessary tools to lead fulfilling and independent lives. In recent years, incidents of hate crimes against the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community have significantly increased across the nation. This troubling trend underscores the need for organizations like ours to actively advocate for the rights and safety of our senior community members. We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all, where diversity is celebrated and valued. Our efforts extend beyond advocacy, as we work tirelessly to create opportunities for growth and enrichment for our members. Whether it's through hosting social activities, organizing cultural events, or providing access to educational resources, we strive to foster a sense of belonging and camaraderie among Asian American senior citizens. We are thrilled to announce that the Westminster Senior Center has reopened its doors, allowing us to resume our activities, including hot lunches and clubs. This exciting development gives our members the chance to reconnect with old friends and make new ones, while also staying engaged and active within the community. Moreover, we are proud to celebrate the accomplishments of our members, including the recent achievement of having the first Vietnamese-American City Manager in the City of Westminster. As part of our commitment to supporting the educational aspirations of our community, we offer scholarships to high school students and current college students who have participated in any PYD program. By providing financial assistance, we aim to encourage the pursuit of higher education and empower young individuals to achieve their academic and career goals. In conclusion, the Asian American Senior Citizen Association is dedicated to advocating for the well-being and empowerment of Asian American senior citizens. Through our diverse range of programs and services, we aim to enhance the lives of our members and contribute positively to our community.
