At BRC, our mission is clear - to preserve and restore this unique coastal habitat for future generations to enjoy. With the help of our dedicated board and staff, BRC has become an influential force in advocating for the conservation of this invaluable natural resource. Leading the charge is Rick Huffman, a Newport Beach native with a deep-rooted passion for his community. Now residing in Costa Mesa with his wife, Cynthia, Rick has been at the forefront of supporting the protection of the Randall Preserve. His vision and dedication have played a vital role in the success of our conservation efforts. In March 2018, BRC achieved a significant milestone when it successfully sued to block the proposed Banning Ranch coastal development. This crucial victory not only protected the natural beauty of the area but also ensured that the habitat remains intact, providing a sanctuary for a wide range of plant and animal species. Furthermore, we are proud to announce that BRC has been recognized for its perseverance and commitment. In recognition of our efforts, the conservancy has been awarded $1.25 million in legal fees, solidifying our position as a leader in environmental advocacy.
