Texas Taxpayers & Research Association Presentation Texas Taxpayers & Research Association (TTARA) is the pre-eminent taxpayer membership organization in the state. With members from a broad spectrum of Texas businesses, TTARA is dedicated to protecting the interests of taxpayers and providing valuable resources to navigate the complex world of fiscal, tax, school finance, economic development, and other public matters. At TTARA, we understand the challenges that taxpayers face when it comes to filing and paying taxes. That's why we work closely with the Texas Comptroller's office to ensure that our members have access to the latest information and resources needed to meet their tax obligations. We provide guidance on electronic reporting and payment requirements, helping taxpayers navigate the process smoothly. One particular area of focus for us is Chapter 313 agreements. These agreements allow school districts to trade tax limitations for development, providing incentives for businesses to invest in Texas communities. TTARA collaborates with the Texas Comptroller's office to review and approve these agreements, ensuring fairness and transparency in the process. Through our advocacy efforts, we work to ensure that school districts recover an appropriate portion of the tax benefits to support education in their communities. Additionally, TTARA recognizes the importance of maintaining accurate financial records. To assist our members in obtaining the necessary information for vendors, we provide a simple and convenient form to request W-9 and credit letters. This service is handled by our Administration Services section of Accounting and Financial Management, ensuring prompt and accurate delivery of the requested information.
