The organization is committed to enriching the lives of young individuals by fostering a supportive and engaging after-school environment. At ASNWNY, our primary goal is to advocate for the expansion of after-school programs in Buffalo schools. We firmly believe that these programs play a crucial role in the holistic development of students. By offering a wide range of activities, such as tutoring, sports, arts, and career exploration, after-school programs keep students engaged, enhance their learning experience, and contribute to their overall success. We understand the value of after-school employment for students in Buffalo. Through our collaborations with local businesses and organizations, we strive to provide job opportunities to high school students, ensuring that they gain valuable skills and experience while earning income. These after-school jobs not only instill a strong work ethic but also prepare students for their future endeavors. ASNWNY actively collaborates with Buffalo driving schools to offer the DMV-certified NYS 5-hour pre-licensing course and driving lessons to the Western New York area. We recognize that obtaining a driver's license is an important milestone for young individuals, and our comprehensive driving program equips them with the knowledge and skills necessary to become responsible drivers. We are proud to have JoAnna Rozier-Johnson as the co-chair of the Buffalo Partners Committee for After-School Network of Western New York. Her dedication and expertise are instrumental in driving the success of our programs. Through her leadership, we are actively reaching out to Buffalo schools and urging them to expand their after-school offerings, creating more opportunities for students to thrive.
