Driver Education at Blackhawk High School is a one-semester course that meets alternating days of the week. In this program, students receive thorough theoretical instruction, covering a wide range of topics essential for becoming responsible drivers. They learn the rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, and the importance of maintaining proper driving attitudes. With at least 30 hours of theory instruction, students gain a comprehensive understanding of the principles of safe driving. Practical application is a crucial component of the driver education curriculum at Blackhawk High School. Students participate in six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction, where they have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-life driving scenarios. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, students develop the necessary skills to handle various road situations competently. Blackhawk High School is an approved driver education program listed on PA.Gov. The school meets all the requirements, providing students with a complete driver education program. The comprehensive program consists of the mandated 30 hours of theory instruction and six hours of behind-the-wheel training. Furthermore, Blackhawk High School has a strong commitment to supporting its students in their college and career aspirations. The school hosted its Annual College and Career Fair, an event that allowed students in grades 9-12 to explore a variety of colleges, universities, and career options. This initiative showcases the dedication of Blackhawk High School to empower students to make informed decisions about their future. At Blackhawk High School, we believe that preparing our students for their futures extends beyond the classroom.
