As an innovative, entrepreneurial, and people-focused leader, the Executive Director plays a vital role in advancing educational equity for every student in San José/Silicon Valley. With an extensive background in nonprofit management and a deep commitment to serving the community, our Executive Director leads the charge in creating impactful partnerships, building relationships with local schools, and fostering collaboration with business leaders. At City Year San José/Silicon Valley, we understand the unique challenges and opportunities present in our community. San José is known for its ethnically diverse population and its thriving technology companies. As the region continues to grow, our Executive Director brings expert knowledge and insights into how we can best support the needs of our students in this dynamic environment. Through strategic collaboration with local schools and community partners, City Year AmeriCorps members work tirelessly to address educational inequities and help students succeed. Our team of highly trained AmeriCorps members, numbering at 105 strong for the *information hidden*service year, is dedicated to providing essential academic and social-emotional support to over 8,000 students. The Executive Director spearheads our efforts to secure vital partnerships with businesses, organizations, and philanthropic entities. Their generosity allows us to expand our reach, deepen our impact, and ensure that more students have access to the resources and support they need to thrive academically and beyond. Under the leadership of our Executive Director, City Year San José/Silicon Valley has celebrated a milestone year, marking 25 years of service to the Silicon Valley community. This achievement is a testament to our unwavering commitment to educational equity and our dedication to making a difference in the lives of students. As we look towards the future, the Executive Director will continue to lead City Year San José/Silicon Valley in pursuing an even clearer and bolder vision of educational equity.
