Baltimore Educational Scholarship Trust (B.E.S.T.) Founded in 1987, Baltimore Educational Scholarship Trust (B.E.S.T.) is committed to supporting academically ambitious African American children with financial need in the Baltimore area. Our mission is to assist these students in gaining access to quality education and preparing them for academic success. At B.E.S.T., we understand that education is a fundamental pillar for personal and professional growth. Through our comprehensive program, we provide a range of services to support our students at every step of their educational journey. One of our primary focuses is providing admissions counseling. When a family is accepted into the B.E.S.T. program, we offer personalized support as they navigate the admissions process. We help them apply to three of our member schools, ensuring that they have access to top-notch educational institutions in the Baltimore area. The B.E.S.T. program goes beyond just admissions counseling. We provide ongoing comprehensive support to our enrolled students and their families. Our team of dedicated professionals, including those in Admissions, Development, College Counseling, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Financial Aid departments, work collaboratively to ensure that our students receive the resources they need to thrive academically and personally. In addition to providing program support, B.E.S.T. also focuses on enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in education. We strive to create an inclusive environment where all students, regardless of their background, can thrive and reach their full potential. We work closely with schools and communities to promote a culture of acceptance and understanding. B.E.S.T. has been making a significant impact in the Baltimore community for over three decades. Our commitment to educational access and equity has been recognized at a national level. In fact, our recent conference on college admissions counseling had record attendance, making it the third largest in National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) history. We were honored to have Governor Wes Moore and Secretary Miguel Cardona address our attendees, further highlighting the importance of our work. We are proud of the achievements of our students, many of whom have gone on to excel in higher education and pursue fulfilling careers. By providing them with the necessary support and opportunities, we empower them to break down barriers and reach their full potential.
